The Liu Family Salt Merchant's Residence is a cultural heritage site protected by Yangzhou City.

Liu Family Salt Merchant's Residence

Located at No. 1 Roujiao Lane, it was built during the Republican era by salt merchant Liu Chuntian. The main gate faces north, but the gate tower has been demolished. Opposite the entrance stands a brick screen wall. Upon entering, there is a courtyard. The southern part of the courtyard consists of two residential groups—eastern and western—each with three courtyards arranged from front to back. The first courtyards contain single-story buildings, namely the entrance hall and the side hall. The second and third courtyards are two-story, corridor-style residences. The buildings are tall and spacious, with exquisitely crafted brick carvings and finely detailed eaves. In 1940, it was sold to grain merchant Pang Chunjia.
