Minglu

Minglu is a protected cultural heritage site of Yangzhou.

Minglu

Located at No. 122 Guangling Road, it is one of the "Four Lu Residences" from Yangzhou’s Republican era — Pulu, Hanlu, Yilu, and Minglu. The homeowner, Mr. Jiang, owner of a construction firm in the early Republican period, purchased the old residence at No. 122 Guangling Road, renovated it, and named it "Minglu." The front section consists of the residential buildings, all laid out as three-bay houses with side wings. The rear is a garden. The gate on the south wall is inscribed with the characters “明庐.” Inside, there is a hall that is outwardly a three-bay structure but actually contains four, with a circular partitioned screen retained in the western side wing. Behind the hall lies a small courtyard, formerly the kitchen, which has now been demolished.
