The Residence at No. 15 Bazongmen is a cultural relic protection unit of Yangzhou City.

Residence at No. 15 Bazongmen

A Qing Dynasty residence. The first four sections face west and east, while the last set of buildings faces north and south, with a total construction area of 494.6 square meters. The main gate faces north and opens onto Bazongmen Lane. The first section is the ceremonial gate hall, five bays wide and five rafters deep, with the gate itself being a finely bricked archway; the second section is the main hall, designed with a layout of three visible and five hidden bays, seven rafters deep; the third section is five bays wide and five rafters deep; the fourth section also follows a three-visible and five-hidden bay layout. The last set consists of two sections: the southern one has three bays, while the northern one features a “three-visible and four-hidden” layout, four bays wide and seven rafters deep. The suite’s courtyard has a west side gate leading to Yinshi Street, and facing the inner wall is a shrine dedicated to the God of Fortune.
