Huang Family Salt Merchant's Residence on Nanhe Lane

This Qing Dynasty salt merchant’s residence originally had three main gates in the central, eastern, and western sections. The surviving parts include the western gate, the central ceremonial gate, two two-story residential buildings, and the eastern residence consisting of three courtyards. The entire complex faces south and has a floor area of 1,056.97 square meters. The western gate, located along the street, is partially extant. The central ceremonial gate is adorned with an exquisitely crafted brick façade. Behind the ceremonial gate are two two-story wooden buildings, each having three bays in width and seven rafters in depth. The eastern residence consists of three sections: the first section is three bays wide and five rafters deep, with a finely laid brick gate; the second section is a two-story building facing south, three bays wide and seven rafters deep; the third section is three bays wide and seven rafters deep.
