The Chen Family Residence in Wantou Town is a cultural relic protection unit of Yangzhou City.

The Chen Family Residence in Wantou Town

Facing south and featuring a symmetrical two-courtyard layout with two stories of connected corridors, the residence is built with a brick-and-wood structure and covers a floor area of 402 square meters. Both courtyards have walls laid with bonded strip bricks and tiled roofs with small tiles, featuring flush gable roofs. Elements such as lattice windows, threshold windows, carved wooden railings, and polished brick skirting are all preserved, and the entire building remains structurally intact. It was built by Chen Yulong, the father-in-law of Zhang Jichuan, the magistrate of Jiangdu County during the Republican era. After the liberation, it served as the office building of the Wantou Town government and is now used as staff dormitories for the Dayang Shipyard.
