The Former Site of Tong Song Shen Hao Pharmacy is a cultural relic protection unit of Yangzhou City.

The original building had five sections front to back, divided into a front shop and rear workshop. The surviving structure faces south, consists of two stories, and includes two contiguous sections — front and rear — with a total floor area of 446 square meters. The southern section is three bays wide, with the ground floor featuring blue brick joints and the upper floor constructed of hollow “three-dou-one-recumbent” walls, topped with small tiles and a hip-and-gable roof. The northern section is also three bays wide, topped with small tiles and a hip-and-gable roof. Its interior finishes and both ceiling and flooring are preserved. The building is generally well-preserved. Tong Song Shen Hao was first established in the 16th year of the Daoguang reign during the Qing Dynasty (1836) as a branch of the Li Songshou Pharmacy on Jiaochang Street. It specialized in the sale of ginseng, bird’s nest, pills, and powders, hence the name Tong Song Shen Hao, with the full title being “Xieji Tong Song Shen Hao.” In the 5th year of the Republic of China (1916), the gentleman Ma Shijie purchased the property and renovated it. In 1935, it was transferred to Pan Songping, then manager of Yangzhou Yisheng Bank. In 1956, it was converted into a public-private partnership and is now part of the Dade Sheng Pharmaceutical Chain.
