The Zhang Family Residence is located at No. 2-1 and No. 2-2, Shaguojing. It was purchased as a dwelling by Zhang Dejian during the late Qing and early Republican period. The residence consists of an east and west section, both facing south. The entrance gate features exquisitely carved water-milled bricks and has three bays, remaining well-preserved. The east section comprises a single-courtyard residence with three bays and two side wings. The west section has two courtyards: the southern one is a four-bay flower hall, in front of which lies a small garden-style courtyard featuring some remaining rockeries and plants; the second courtyard is a three-bay residence with two side wings. The northwest corner of the residence’s wall borders “Shaguojing.”
