Shaguo Well

Shaguo Well is a cultural relic protection unit of Yangzhou City.

Shaguo Well

Located in Shaguo Well Lane, Dongquanmen, it was recorded as early as the 1863 “Map of Yangzhou Prefecture” during the second year of the Tongzhi reign in the Qing Dynasty. The well is encircled by a curved, rolled-edge yellow sandstone coping that resembles a traditional sandpot, hence its name. The walls of the well are built with bricks and it is currently still used in the daily lives of local residents.
