Dadongmen Bridge is located at the eastern end of Dadongmen Street, stretching east-west across the Xiaoqinhuai River. Originally built during the Jiajing era of the Ming Dynasty, it was initially a wooden drawbridge over the moat outside the eastern gate of the old city.
