Former Residence of Xiang Yu

The Former Residence of Xiang Yu is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction and a cultural relic protection unit of Suqian City.

The Former Residence of Xiang Yu is located on Wutong Lane, between the ancient Yellow River and the Grand Canal in Sucheng District, Suqian City, Jiangsu Province, east of Xuhuai Road. Also known as "Wutong Lane," it is the birthplace of Xiang Yu, a nobleman of the Chu State, leader of the peasant uprising at the end of the Qin Dynasty, the heroic figure renowned for his might that "could lift a mountain and cover the world," and the Overlord of Western Chu.

The Former Residence of Xiang Yu is China’s first themed site centered around Xiang Yu and Xiang family culture, including the Xiang Family Ancestral Hall. It is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction and a key cultural relic protection unit of Jiangsu Province. The site primarily features Chu-style architecture, incorporating elements of imperial and garden architecture. A memorial stele was erected in the 40th year of the Kangxi reign. To honor this brave and generous hero, the local people established a stele and memorial archway at his birthplace—Xiatang Wutong Lane.

Currently, the total construction area of the Former Residence of Xiang Yu is 350,000 square meters, comprising the core area of the Former Residence, the traditional Wutong Lane district, the Xichu Street commercial and leisure zone, the waterfront cultural leisure area, the commercial and cultural leisure area, and the riverside commercial leisure area. The core scenic area covers an area of 260 mu, with a construction area of 76,000 square meters.

Full price: 80 RMB per person; half price: 40 RMB per person

Free Admission: Active-duty military personnel, visitors surnamed “Xiang” or “Yu,” members of provincial-level or higher photography, literature, fine arts, journalism, or calligraphy associations in Jiangsu Province, families of martyrs, people with disabilities, recipients of urban and rural minimum living allowances, children under 1.4 meters (including 1.4 meters) or under 6 years old, seniors aged 70 or above, holders of the Investment Paradise Card, Suqian Talent Card, Tourist Annual Pass, Disabled Military Personnel ID, Preferential Treatment Certificate for Beneficiaries, and those who have won the National Voluntary Blood Donation Dedication Award, Voluntary Hematopoietic Stem Cell Donation Award, or Lifetime Honor Award for Voluntary Blood Donation Volunteer Service. The above individuals may enter free of charge upon presenting valid identification.

Half-Price Admission:

Half-price admission applies to minors aged 6 (exclusive) to 18 (inclusive), students (full-time undergraduate or below), seniors aged 60 to 69, and labor models or higher, who may enjoy a 50% discount upon presenting valid identification.
