General Zhu Rui was the founder of the artillery force of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, the highest-ranking officer to sacrifice his life during the Liberation War, and one of the 100 heroic role models who made outstanding contributions to the founding of New China. The Former Residence of Zhu Rui is situated within the Jiangjunli Residential Community. It is a public welfare project built by our town to commemorate General Zhu Rui and enhance the cultural ambiance of the community. The project has a total investment of approximately 6 million yuan, with a construction area of 1,000 square meters. The overall layout features a traditional northern Jiangsu-style compound consisting of two courtyards and three rows of buildings. The front courtyard displays relics and photos left by the general, showcasing his growth, revolutionary career, and immortal achievements. The rear courtyard focuses on tracing the living background of the general’s childhood, displaying his family background as well as details about his education and daily life. The project was put into use at the end of June and has become an important site for commemorating General Zhu Rui, as well as a popular tourist destination that boosts local vitality and commercial activity. The Zhu Rui Memorial Hall is located on the campus of Longhe Town Central Primary School and serves as a key venue for learning about the life and deeds of General Zhu Rui. With a total investment of 2.6 million yuan, the memorial hall has been in operation and is open to the public free of charge, having received over 50,000 visitors to date.

Longhe Town: The town is named after the “Longhe River” that flows through it. Before the founding of the People’s Republic of China, it was under the jurisdiction of Panshan District, Sisui County. It was later incorporated into Buzi Town, Suqian County, and in 1958, the Longhe Commune was established. In 1984, it was restructured as Longhe Township. Located in the southwestern part of the city, at the border between Jiangsu and Anhui provinces, it is 28 kilometers from the urban center. The town covers an area of 59 square kilometers and has a population of 45,000. The Xuning Highway runs through the area, and the Xuhong River flows across the township.
