Han Tombs at Lingjie Mountain

The Han Tombs at Lingjie Mountain are a cultural tourism attraction.

Located to the east of Xingfu Road and south of Yushikou Road in the urban area of Suqian, the Han Tombs at Lingjie Mountain were the subject of rescue archaeological excavations conducted in early 2010 by the Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Press and Publication in collaboration with the History Department of Nanjing University, due to the construction of the Suho Yinzuo project. The excavation uncovered a total of 109 tombs and one ancient river channel from the Ming and Qing dynasties running from north to south. Except for one brick-chambered tomb, all the others were vertical pit graves. More than 300 artifacts were unearthed, including pottery, bronze ware, ironware, and jade artifacts. The burial site is preliminarily believed to be the cemetery for residents of Xiashang City from the Qin and Han periods, located approximately 2 kilometers to the southwest, providing substantial physical evidence for the study of funeral customs and historical culture in Suqian during the Han Dynasty.
