The Yuwang Scenic Garden is located in the southeastern corner of Shigang Town, covering an area of over 120 acres. It is a tourism and leisure destination jointly developed by the People's Government of Shigang Town and Shigang Middle School. Here, lush greenery thrives year-round, pavilions and terraces are gracefully arranged, and the rich heritage of ancient culture blends harmoniously with the vibrant essence of modern culture.

Upon entering the gate of the scenic garden, the first sight to greet you is a lawn as green as a carpet, adorned with a variety of flowers, plants, and uniquely shaped rockeries. Beyond this scene, a delightful surprise awaits—a shimmering lake of clear blue water. This lake was formerly known as “Wu Gong’s Calligraphy-Washing Pond,” believed to be the place where ancient scholars washed their brushes after practicing calligraphy. Spanning over 30 acres, the lake features a small island in its center, covering approximately one acre. The lake is surrounded entirely by land, with no connection to external water sources or drainage outlets. Yet, regardless of the season—winter or summer, dry or rainy—the water level remains constant throughout the year, neither rising nor falling. The small island in the center appears low-lying, yet it has never been flooded throughout history. The reasons behind this remain the subject of various theories: some say the island is a floating landmass that rises and falls with the water level; others suggest there are springs beneath the lake that allow underground deep water to self-regulate; elderly residents of Shigang believe the island houses an “imperial burial tomb,” and the spiritual energy of the noble person interred there prevents both drought and flooding. Though the explanations vary, the fact remains that the lake’s water level stays consistently stable.
