Rushan Seal Temple is located in the northern section of the Coastal Economic Development Zone in Rudong County. In 2005, the county Party committee and government organized land reclamation from the sea, and commissioned the Coastal Economic Development Zone to introduce a developer to invest in the construction through a land exchange arrangement. The temple covers an area of over 40 acres. It includes a mountain gate, the Hall of Heavenly Kings, the Dragon King Hall, the Guanyin Hall, the Sea-Viewing Pavilion, as well as more than ten east and west wing rooms. The total construction cost was nearly 12 million yuan. After two and a half years, the temple was completed in 2008 and currently has six monastic staff members.
