The Ming-Qing Dynasty Residences on Shuidong Street are a protected cultural heritage site of Jiangsu Province.

Ming-Qing Dynasty Residences on Shuidong Street: These residences, known as the Jiang Ke Mansion, are divided into eastern and western sections. The western section features Ming-style architecture, while the eastern section is built in the Qing Dynasty style. The Jiang Ke family, who were the original owners, did not reside there for long before selling the property to others. Interestingly, from ancient times to the present, all the owners of this residence have come from scholarly and official families. Many scholars and imperial examination graduates have emerged from this household. In 1950, when the street was widened, the entrance gate, gate hall, and front reception hall—buildings along the street—were demolished. This residence previously served as the office of a cultural department and is currently under renovation. Its future use remains uncertain.
