The Former Site of the Negotiation Talks between the New Fourth Army and Taizhou Authorities during the Eastern Advance is a Jiangsu Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Unit and a classic red tourism destination.

The Former Site of the Negotiation Talks between the New Fourth Army and Taizhou Authorities during the Eastern Advance is located at No. 122 Lingyuan Road, Taizhou City, Jiangsu Province.

During the War of Resistance Against Japan, the Guerrilla Deputy Command Headquarters of the Kuomintang’s Lu-Su-Wan Military District was stationed here. Between 1939 and 1940, Chen Yi visited Taizhou three times and held negotiations with local KMT power brokers Li Mingyang and Li Changjiang here, successfully uniting for the anti-Japanese resistance. The site was originally Xishan Temple (now within Taizhou Middle School), and two halls from the Qing Dynasty still remain. The Mahavira Hall is five bays wide (21.5 meters) and eleven rafters deep (17.4 meters), with a flush gable roof. It has a front terrace, and the beams feature bracket sets with one-dou-nine-sheng design. The Heavenly King Hall is also five bays wide (21.5 meters) and seven rafters deep (12.7 meters), with a flush gable roof. Its beams use a post-and-lintel construction style, with bracket sets in one-dou-six-sheng and one-dou-nine-sheng designs. In 1998, during the widening of Lingyuan Road, the Heavenly King Hall was relocated to the west side of the main hall and aligned with it.

In April 1995, the Former Site of the Negotiation Talks between the New Fourth Army and Taizhou Authorities during the Eastern Advance was designated as part of the fourth group of Jiangsu Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Units.
