The Taizhou Revolutionary Martyrs Memorial Hall is one of the key projects identified by the Taizhou Municipal Committee and Municipal Government in 2008. It was expanded and renovated from the original Taizhou Revolutionary Martyrs Memorial Hall, with official construction starting in March 2008.
The new hall covers an area of 64.37 acres, and its main structures include exhibition halls, a memorial monument, a memorial square, and a martyrs' cemetery area. The first phase of the project had a planned investment of 50 million yuan. From April 1 to 10, 2009, the newly built Revolutionary Martyrs Monument and Memorial Square were opened to the public.
