During the dry season, locals dig up mud from the low-lying waterlogged areas and pile it up on higher ground, creating small island-like fields known as "Duo Tian" (pile fields).

Hundreds of these mound-shaped fields float on the water, shrouded in mist and clouds, forming a spectacular sight. Gliding gracefully through the intricate waterways among the flower-covered fields by wooden boat offers a truly picturesque experience.

In spring, golden rapeseed flowers bloom across the mound fields, covering nearly ten thousand acres with a uniquely stunning landscape.

Transportation

Self-Guided:

From downtown to the scenic area: Buses depart directly from Xinghua Bus Passenger Transport Station in Xinghua City to the scenic area, with fares ranging from 6–7 yuan and a travel time of about 30–40 minutes. During the Rapeseed Flower Festival, free shuttle buses operate between the scenic area and downtown.

From the scenic area to downtown: To return from the scenic area to Xinghua City, you can take a tourist bus within the village, which usually runs every half hour. However, during the Qingming Festival travel peak, traffic congestion in the village is severe due to many visitors arriving by private car from cities such as Yangzhou and Nanjing. As a result, you may have to wait up to an hour for a bus, and there are almost no taxis available in the local villages. Therefore, it is advisable for travelers arriving by train to rent a car for the day at around 500 yuan, which is more convenient and time-saving.

1. Exit at Jieshou → turn right onto Provincial Highway S332 and head east toward Ganggu Township Government → turn right, cross the bridge, and drive 7 km to reach the scenic area.

2. Exit at Anfeng on the Ningjing-Yan Expressway → take Provincial Highway S332 and head west along Daxing-Jin Highway toward Ganggu Township Government → turn left, cross the bridge, and drive 7 km to reach the scenic area.

3. Exit at Xinghua on the Ningjing-Yan Expressway → head toward Xinghua → turn right onto Xingtai Highway and head north → take Provincial Highway S332 and head west toward Ganggu Township Government → turn left, cross the bridge, and drive 7 km to reach the scenic area.

5. Drive to the end of Chang’an North Road in Xinghua City → turn right and drive 1 km to Guanmencheng Entrance → turn left and drive 3 km along Xingzhong Highway → turn left and drive 7 km to reach the scenic area.

6. From Yanjia Entrance on the northern outer ring road of Xinghua City → drive straight north along Lishui Water Forest Park on Xingsha Highway to the intersection → turn right onto Provincial Highway S332/Daxing-Jin Highway and drive 5 km → head toward Ganggu Township Government → turn right, cross the bridge, and drive 7 km to reach the scenic area.

Ticket

Combined ticket for admission and boat ride: 100 yuan/person. Boat tickets are not sold or checked separately but are included in the admission ticket—meaning all visitors must purchase this ticket regardless of whether they take the boat or not.

Discounted tickets: Local students (elementary, middle, high school, and vocational) in Xinghua receive a 50% discount. However, during peak visitor periods of the Rapeseed Flower Festival, student discounts may not be available even with a valid student ID.

Free admission: Senior citizens aged 70+ from Xinghua City, minors under 1.2 meters (when accompanied by a parent), tour guides, active-duty military personnel, journalists, and members of provincial-level or higher photography associations can enter for free upon presenting valid ID or their resident ID card. However, they are not allowed to board the boats. Those wishing to take a boat ride must pay an additional 50 yuan per person.
