Golden Gourd Community serves as a patriotic education base.

Golden Gourd Community is located in the northeastern corner of Zhaoxiang Town and was named “Golden Gourd” due to its terrain resembling the shape of a gourd. The community has a total planned area of 118.76 hectares, with plans for 2,652 households and a projected population of 9,282 people. The green coverage rate within the community reaches 40%, and there are approximately 16,478 square meters of outdoor activity spaces. The residents of the entire community were relocated from villagers originating from 13 different natural villages across the town. Since its establishment, the community has been honored with titles such as Shanghai Model Neighborhood Committee for Community Construction, Shanghai Safe Neighborhood, Qingpu District Civilized Neighborhood, Qingpu District Science Popularization Model Neighborhood Committee, and Qingpu District Traffic Civilization Neighborhood Committee.

The community comprehensive service center houses a women’s center, disabled persons’ association, youth activity center, and more, with the entire center covering a construction area of 2,100 square meters. The community emphasizes organizing various cultural activities for residents, collaborating with relevant departments to host large-scale events such as the “Fire Safety in the Community” drill, mobile legal knowledge exhibitions, photography exhibitions of the Jiangnan water towns, a series of science popularization exhibitions, food hygiene knowledge displays, the “Golden Gourd Workers’ Sports Meet,” as well as cultural outreach activities known as the “Three Down to the Countryside” programs and occasional open-air movie screenings, all aimed at enriching residents' leisure life and invigorating community culture.

Zhaoxiang Town: Zhaoxiang Town is situated in the eastern part of Qingpu District. To the east, it borders Xujing Town; to the south, it meets Sijing Town and Sheshan Town of Songjiang District; to the west, it neighbors Xiayang Subdistrict and Qingdong Farm; and to the north, it connects with Xianghuaqiao Subdistrict, Zhonggu Town, and Huaxin Town. The town enjoys convenient waterway transportation and well-developed infrastructure. G50 Shanghai–Chongqing Expressway, Line 17 of the Shanghai Metro, National Highway 318, Yinggang East Road, and Songze Avenue span east-west; Jiasong Middle Road, Zhaozhong Highway, and Shan Zhou Highway run north-south; while Youdun Port, Dianpu River, and Xintongbo Pond crisscross the area, making it an important water transport hub for Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces.
