Yangpu Park

Yangpu Park is a large, comprehensive park with an elegant green layout and innovative facilities, often referred to as Shanghai’s “Little West Lake.” Located at 369 Shuangyang Road, it was opened to the public in 1958. Designed with the landscape of Hangzhou’s West Lake as inspiration, the park centers its layout around water bodies and is divided into five scenic areas: Yuyuan Garden, Central Area, Animal Area, Amusement Park, and Garden Within a Garden. The park is planted with 152 species and 27,945 trees and shrubs, arranged in layers and varying heights according to plant seasons and colors.

The park also features structures such as the Songhe Pavilion, Xiangyuan Pavilion, Yuchun Pavilion, Mushroom Pavilion, Monkey Viewing Pavilion, Fish Viewing Corridor, waterside pavilions, trellises, flower stands, as well as six stone bridges and footbridges. These elements, designed in various architectural styles, are combined with plants, rockeries, and bamboo shoots to create small scenic spots. Together, they form a picturesque scene of lush trees, exotic flowers, rockeries and waterfalls, small bridges over flowing streams, and winding paths leading to serene corners. In recent years, over 1.1 million yuan has been invested to renovate the facade along Kangjiang Road into a 365-meter-long wall, while the surrounding green space has been completely transformed and enhanced with lighting, creating a scenic attraction in the area and offering visitors a beautiful environment. The park receives approximately 6 million visitors annually and consistently ranks among the top three in the city’s park evaluations.
