Shanghai Academicians' Style Museum

The Shanghai Academicians' Style Museum is a Shanghai municipal cultural heritage site, as well as a base for science education and patriotic education.

The Shanghai Academicians' Style Museum is the first specialized exhibition hall in China dedicated to showcasing the achievements and spirit of academicians from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering. Liu Yandong, Vice Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, inscribed the motto “Promote the patriotic spirit and scale the heights of science and technology” for the museum. The former President of the Chinese Academy of Engineering wrote the name of the museum.

The Shanghai Academicians' Style Museum features a solemn, refined, and elegant style. The entire building resembles an open book and was designed by the renowned visual artist Chen Yifei. The museum covers an exhibition area of 2,000 square meters and presents the scientific lives and research achievements of over 220 academicians who have worked or lived in Shanghai through rich and detailed exhibits, integrating multimedia displays. The museum is divided into six sections—Preface Hall, “Struggle and Glory,” “Dreams and Pursuits,” “Mission and Honor,” “Pioneering and Innovation,” and the Final Hall—and four major exhibition areas. It also includes facilities such as a lecture hall, meeting rooms, and VIP rooms, serving as a platform for interaction and exchange between academicians and the public. It is an important demonstration site for promoting the patriotic spirit, passing on the torch of science, and showcasing the “national strategy of strengthening the country through talent and the construction of an innovative nation.” The Shanghai Academicians' Style Museum has been designated as a Shanghai Science Education Base, a Patriotic Education Base of the China Patriotic Engineering Federation at the Shanghai Academicians' Style Museum, a Shanghai Patriotic Education Base, and a National Science Education Base.
