Shanghai Printing Museum

The Shanghai Printing Museum is a patriotic education base.

The Shanghai Printing Museum was established by Shanghai Publishing and Printing College and completed in 1998. It is a Shanghai Patriotic Education Base, a Shanghai Science Education Base, and an Ethnic Culture Museum of Shanghai higher education institutions. With the mission of "preserving history and educating people," the museum displays the essence of thousands of years of printing culture, inherits outstanding national culture, conducts patriotic and science education, and provides dedicated service to the public. It receives 10,000 to 20,000 domestic and international visitors annually, over 60% of whom are minors.

Venue Resources and Scale:

The overall exhibition area covers approximately 1,000 square meters, featuring more than 1,550 exhibits divided into five sections: "The Origin, Development, and Spread of Printing," "The Introduction and Development of Modern Printing," "Shanghai Printing Industry," "Printing Experience," and "Exhibition of Printing Masterpieces." It brings together the development of ancient Chinese printing techniques and the essence of printing culture, showcasing the growth of Shanghai’s printing industry in modern times and its impact on China’s social development.

The venue is open to the public year-round, offering free admission, with a capacity of about 80 visitors per group.
