The Tongji University National Defense Education Exhibition Hall serves as a patriotic education base and a national defense education base.

The Tongji University National Defense Education Exhibition Hall is located on the Siping Road Campus of Tongji University. It was planned in 1991 and opened to the public in 1992. Covering an area of over 1,000 square meters, with a building area of over 800 square meters and an exhibition area of over 300 square meters, it is currently the most comprehensively equipped and largest-scale national defense education base among universities nationwide.

The exhibition hall's name was inscribed by Zhang Aiping, former Minister of National Defense. The venue includes multiple exhibition rooms such as a national defense education exhibition corridor, weapons display room, shooting training room, study and reading room, image and data room, and multi-functional activity room. Among them, the national defense education exhibition corridor is divided into over 10 thematic sections including national defense theory, national defense forces, national defense campaigns, surrounding environment, national defense obligations, policies and regulations, civil air defense, and dual support. It fully showcases the development of China’s national defense over the past 100 years, highlights the heroic spirit of our Party and military during the revolutionary war years, and demonstrates the firm determination of the people’s army to safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity. The weapons display room exhibits a total of 260 real weapons and models from the Army, Navy, and Air Force of the Chinese military, including nearly 60 real items such as early guns, cannons, and ammunition, as well as over 200 models of various aircraft and ships. The shooting training room has six shooting positions, mainly used for students’ shooting experience during the school’s military training period.
