The Shanghai Water Supply Technology Museum was upgraded and transformed from the former Shanghai Water Supply Exhibition Hall. Its building is an early 20th-century British Gothic castle-style structure, blending seamlessly with the surrounding buildings of the same period and architectural style.

Shanghai Water Supply Technology Museum Exhibits

The Water Supply Technology Museum has three floors with a total exhibition area of over 1,000 square meters, divided into three themed sections: “History · Source,” “Modern · Technology,” and “Future · Planning.” Among them, exhibits such as the “Magic Book of Water Supply Science” and “Bubble Water Shanghai” utilize non-contact interactive technologies like image recognition and motion tracking. An innovative display method — the “Video Box” — uses a stereoscopic splicing and edge-blending playback system. Visitors only need to wear 3D glasses to fully “immerse” themselves in the visual world and experience the past and future of tap water. In addition, the museum also employs numerous multimedia display systems to loop various short videos, actively promoting the importance of water conservation.

The completion and opening of the Water Supply Technology Museum not only provides a new destination for citizens and tourists from home and abroad for “science education tours” and “industrial tours,” but also serves as a science education base in Shanghai, offering a uniquely distinctive “big classroom” for primary and secondary school students.
