In June 2007, Daixiu Lake Park — Harbin’s first water-themed park centered on “reclaimed water” — officially opened to the public. The park achieved dual ecological effects of environmental protection and beautification. The main landscape is a naturally excavated artificial lake covering 1.8 hectares, forming an ecological scenic area.

Locals visit Daixiu Lake Park every morning and evening for leisure and recreation, enjoying the gentle morning ripples on the lake and the vibrant night scenery. During the day, it becomes a popular destination for tourists from all walks of life. Travel agencies have included Daixiu Lake Park as another key attraction in Harbin, following Sun Island and the Northern Forest Zoo, often bringing tour groups here, which has been widely welcomed by out-of-town visitors. The “Neighborhoods Hand in Hand Explore the New City — Celebrating Home’s Changes and Discussing Development Prospects” journey activity organized by the Municipal Party Committee Propaganda Department also features Daixiu Lake Park, taking community residents from various districts on tours around the lake.

On weekends, Daixiu Lake Park becomes a popular spot for newlyweds to film their wedding videos. Couples who choose to shoot here believe that the park — with its lake, bridges, islands, pavilions, flowers, and trees — creates a harmonious yet distinct scene, living up to its beautiful name, making it their top choice for wedding mementos. Moreover, Daixiu Lake Park has also attracted significant media attention. The “Happy Home for the Elderly” program on the Economic Channel of Radio 97.2 produced a special episode at the park, and the weather forecast segment of News Night Voyage has used different views of Daixiu Lake as its backdrop multiple times. The TV series “A Small Town Story” also selected Daixiu Lake Park as one of its filming locations.
