Food in South Africa: Enjoy a feast and watch the World Cup live

The “Food in South Africa” feast, available from June 11 to July 11, featured a rotating selection of special dishes such as Cape smoked fish pie, onion and beetroot, biltong beef and potato salad, South African beef pie, curry seafood parcels, lamb skewers, South African boerewors, traditional South African glazed pork leg with fruit sauce, as well as honey pancakes, cream cheese cake, and macadamia honey tarts. Lunch starts from NT$790 and dinner from NT$890. During the event, in line with the World Cup schedule, Far East Café also broadcasted matches live starting at 19:30.

Li Bai Ju, a favorite among foreign guests, will also broadcast matches live every day until midnight, serving a selection of light meals paired with beers from Taiwan, the US, Germany, Japan, and more. During the event, the chef specially designed two platter battles: “World Cup Food Delights” and “Taiwanese Food Delights,” each priced at NT$520. Additionally, Pin Xiang Fang introduced commemorative desserts, with gold-medal pastry chefs handcrafting World Cup-themed cakes priced at NT$1,200 each.

During the event, customers who spent NT$1,000 or more at Li Bai Ju or enjoyed lunch/dinner at Far East Café would receive one lottery ticket for every NT$1,000 spent. Prizes included a round-trip flight ticket from Hong Kong to Johannesburg sponsored by South African Airways, one night in the hotel’s Executive Suite, and one night in a Premium Room at Shangri-La’s Far Eastern International Hotel Tainan. Winners who also correctly guessed the champion team could receive an additional NT$3,000 hotel voucher.
