Osaka, the water city, is one of Japan’s oldest cities, having been a bustling town for over 1,400 years. The ocean and rivers have brought an abundance of fresh seafood to Osaka, and in the 17th century, the Tokugawa shogunate expanded the urban area, making Osaka a national hub for goods exchange and earning it the reputation as the “Nation’s Kitchen.” When traveling to Osaka, one of the most important things to do is to indulge in its cuisine — try everything from takoyaki, okonomiyaki, ramen, udon, to fugu dishes. For Japanophiles and shopaholics, Osaka is a shopping paradise, with spots like Shinsaibashi, Dotonbori, various underground shopping streets, and department stores that are sure to drain your wallet.

There’s no shortage of great travel information and fun attractions in Osaka. If you’re the go-to Osaka expert among your friends, or if you know every little detail about Osaka, the Osaka Convention & Tourism Bureau is hosting this year’s online event “Find the Osaka Experts Group,” actively recruiting bloggers who have visited Osaka. Simply share your Osaka travel experiences online, recommend food, shopping, and sightseeing spots full of memories, and you could win the grand prize: a “Rediscover Osaka Experts 4-day, 3-night free trip.” Netizens will also vote to give out limited-edition Osaka trend gifts.

From June 11 to June 24, visit the “Find the Osaka Experts Group” event website. Share your Osaka experience travelogue under the theme “My Little Memories in Osaka” with 500–800 words, and upload 3 photos full of Osaka memories. After the registration deadline, the organizers will review and select 30 winners based on the creativity of the bloggers’ articles, the appeal and completeness of the photos and blogs. These winners will enter the voting period from July 2 to July 11, where netizens will choose the most appealing travelogue. The one with the highest votes will win the Popularity Award and receive the “Rediscover Osaka Experts 4-day, 3-night free trip.”

In addition to the Popularity Award, the organizers will also select a first prize winner, who will also receive a 4-day, 3-night free trip for one person plus one companion. Eight second prize winners will each receive a single-person 4-day, 3-night free trip. Selected bloggers can travel to Osaka from July 23–26 or July 26–29 to participate in either the “Osaka Food & Festivals” or “Osaka Shopping Paradise” free trips, fully experiencing the charm of Osaka. Upon returning, they will write and publish their travel experiences on their blogs, introducing Taiwan’s public to Osaka’s delicious food, great shopping, and fun attractions. Netizens who participate in the voting will also have a chance to win limited-edition Osaka-exclusive gifts, including T-shirts from the trendy brand EVISU and various items from the cute stationery brand ARANZI ARONZO.
