Crane Lake (Four Pools) is a lake nestled among reed marshes, backed by the world wonder of geyser cones and facing an ancient stony pond. With a water depth of 3–5 meters, the lake is renowned for its reed-fringed crane viewing spots and tranquil surroundings. It features two 50-meter-wide aquatic plant zones densely populated with emergent vegetation such as cattails, reeds, and water chestnuts.

The lakebed is made of volcanic sand, and the pool boasts a rich variety of fish, especially crucian carp. Interested visitors can try fishing from boats. The lakeshore is overgrown with aquatic plants, and wild birds such as white cranes and red-crowned cranes are often seen nesting and breeding here in pairs. It is an exceptional spot for summer camping.

As visitors sit quietly by the ancient stony pond on the opposite lakeshore, breathing in the rich scent of grass and listening to the calls of cranes in the distance, they are sure to fall deeply in love with this volcanic paradise—the beautiful homeland of cranes.
