Dubbed the Taiwanese version of the Setouchi Triennale, this island sanctuary allows art and outdoor enthusiasts to venture into the forested wilderness and immerse themselves in the fusion of art and nature. Five exhibition zones and 20 artists have collaborated to create unique works inspired by the natural environment, offering a chance to admire the island’s silhouette from various perspectives.

Shaoshaosiu siu is a massive greenhouse nestled in the Yangmingshan Forest. The entire space features minimalist design, using agricultural black mesh fabric and lightweight steel frames to highlight nature. Inside, visitors can feel the shift of the four seasons and observe the raw magic of the natural world.

This time, “Háizài” and “Er Jia Si” co-curated the exhibition, themed around the island and bringing together 20 craft creators. They tailored an intriguing journey through a craft creation sanctuary, perfectly matching the unique spatial atmosphere of Shaoshaosiu siu.

Wandering through the five themed exhibition areas that weave between the forest and the greenhouse, you’ll discover the thoughtful craftsmanship of various materials seamlessly integrated with the natural surroundings. The artworks are fresh and poetic, conveying a sense of fluidity with nature—offering an exhibition experience full of creative innovation.

This time, the exhibition areas are divided according to island characteristics into five zones: Forest Valley, Deep Sea Snorkeling, Spirit of the Island, Secret Path Adventure, and Earthly Table. Through various craft mediums such as paper-cutting, textiles, metalwork, and pottery, visitors can savor the unique seasonal flavors of the little island.
