The Daqing Petroleum Science and Technology Museum serves as a base for science education.

Covering a total construction area of 54,000 square meters, the Daqing Petroleum Science and Technology Museum is a large-scale, modern, and specialized science museum themed around petroleum technology. It highlights the achievements and glorious history of Daqing’s petroleum industry, showcases the exploration and development journey, the current state of oilfield development, and how technological advancements have supported the growth of the oilfields.

The museum features 11 thematic exhibition halls that use high-tech methods such as sound, light, and electricity to present complex and profound petroleum science and production technologies in an accessible way. This achieves a unified experience of scientific accuracy, knowledge, interest, and accessibility. Visitors to the Daqing Petroleum Science and Technology Museum can trace the footsteps of 50 years of technological innovation in the Daqing Oilfield and personally feel the pulse of its 50-year development.

The predecessor of the Daqing Petroleum Science and Technology Museum was the Daqing Oilfield Development Experiment Exhibition Hall (also known as the Earth Palace), which was first built in 1960 and gradually improved and expanded along with the development of the Daqing Oilfield. On September 16, 1995, the exhibition hall was renovated and renamed the Daqing Oilfield Technology Museum, then officially opened to the public. On September 24, 2009, the Daqing Oilfield Science and Technology Museum was renamed the Daqing Petroleum Science and Technology Museum and reopened at a new location, opening to the public once again.
