The Dafeng River Drift in Jinshantun is one of the premium tourism routes in Heilongjiang Province. Since its development, it has welcomed tens of thousands of tourists from home and abroad, earning unanimous praise and being hailed as the “No. 1 Drift in the Lesser Khingan Mountains.”

The Dafeng River is located within the territory of Jinshantun and is a tributary of the Tangwang River. It originates at the foot of Lao Bai Mountain, flows through forest farms and management areas such as Baishan, Fengling, Fenggou, and Fengmao, and joins the Tangwang River about 5 kilometers south of the district seat. The Dafeng River is 80 kilometers long, with an average width of about 30 meters and a water depth of 1–1.5 meters. The river water is pure and crystal clear, with a riverbed composed of fine sand and pebbles, so barefoot standing on the riverbank feels like a massage. The currents here are rapid, and drifting downstream in a two-person rubber raft offers thrilling bumps and spins, providing endless fun. This area was among the first in Yichun to develop drift tourism and enjoys high visibility both within and outside the province.

For many years in the past, the Dafeng River served as a major channel for timber transport. During the Japanese puppet regime, seven timber sluice gates were built along the river, making it the main route for timber transportation. After liberation, it continued to be used for transporting timber downhill, contributing significantly to the forestry bureau’s timber production achievements. Every summer, drift tourism enthusiasts flock here in great numbers. In recent years, the Jinshantun Forestry Bureau has leveraged the area’s resource advantages, attracted investment, and drawn numerous investors and local private entrepreneurs to develop tourism here. The tourism facilities and service standards have been comprehensively improved, and new tourism products such as bamboo raft drifting have also been introduced.

The water of the Dafeng River is cool, pure, and crystal clear, with no pollution. When you navigate the river in a small boat, it may meander along winding paths or drift smoothly. The current alternates between fast and slow — during fast flows, the boat is jolted by surging waves, taking your breath away yet remaining thrilling yet safe. In slower sections, the water surface becomes like a mirror, even reflecting your beautiful figure, allowing you to unwind and chase your dreams while drifting.

The Dafeng River winds through towering mountains and steep ridges, with the water mirroring the green peaks and the landscape reflecting on itself. Here, you can fully enjoy the scenic views on both banks. A variety of wildlife such as mountain eagles, wild pigeons, geese, and wild ducks can be spotted. Within the serene bends shaded by greenery, you’ll often see mandarin ducks playing in the water, and if you’re lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of their graceful “silhouettes.”
