Riyuexia National Forest Park was officially approved as a national-level forest park by the State Forestry Administration on December 28, 2000. Located in the Riyuexia area of Mayongshun Forest Farm, Tieli Forestry Bureau, at the southern foot of the Lesser Khingan Mountains, it covers an area of 29,708 hectares. Riyuexia National Forest Park is the only national forest park in China that was entirely constructed through voluntary work and donations and is owned by the state. The park is characterized by its unique forest flora and fauna resources, ever-changing seasonal landscapes, naturally formed geographical features, profound traditional cultural heritage, and a concept of forest ecological wellness tourism. Riyuexia features a typical mountain climate, with average summer temperatures of 20–24°C, making it cool and pleasant. It serves as an ideal destination for sightseeing, leisure, vacationing, camping, exploration, and national defense education, embodying the essence of Buddhist, Taoist, and Confucian philosophies within one park.
