Guntu Ridge Scenic Area is located 56 kilometers from the Langxiang Bureau and covers an area of 6 hectares. It consists of attractions such as the Balan River rafting, the Jade Rabbit Fairy Pool natural bathing beach, and the green botanical flower garden. The area boasts unique natural landscapes, picturesque mountains and waters, beautiful scenery, and pleasant views. As you enter the scenic zone, the first thing that catches your eye is the daunting peaks of Guntu Ridge—so steep that wild rabbits often tumble down the cliffs, hence the name of the ridge. Deep below the tens-of-meters-high cliffs lies the “Jade Rabbit Fairy Pool,” where the water is clear and shimmering. Legend has it that long ago, fairies often brought their jade rabbits here to play and bathe, which is how the pool got its name.

Visitors standing at the edge of the “Fairy Pool” and looking up will see two uniquely styled wooden villas perched atop the peak of Guntu Ridge. The morning mists and birdsongs in the forest bring a sense of tranquility to overnight guests. In harmony with the villas is a modern-style wooden restaurant located at the valley bottom of the “Fairy Pool.” With its distinctive and elegant architecture, the restaurant offers top-notch dining services for visitors.

From the peak of Guntu Ridge to the valley bottom of the Jade Rabbit Fairy Pool, a 108-step pathway made of cobblestones and larch poles leads all the way down, adding endless fun for visitors. To help guests quickly enjoy the natural scenery, a uniquely designed pedestrian suspension bridge has been built across the Balan River upstream of the Jade Rabbit Fairy Pool. This bridge not only connects the landscapes on both riverbanks but also adds a beautiful attraction to the scenic area. The Jade Rabbit Pool has been developed into a natural bathing beach, featuring both an unfathomably deep area and a crystal-clear shallow area for visitors to swim and paddle.

The Balan River is 101 kilometers long. This inland river of the Lesser Khingan Mountains, which has flowed for hundreds or even thousands of years, originates from Wuhuadingzi Mountain in the Langxiang forest area. Lush pines and willows along the banks create enchanting scenery, making boating here an immense pleasure. For this reason, we have launched the “First Rafting Trip at the Source of the Balan River” tour project. An 18-kilometer rafting journey allows visitors to fully immerse themselves in the beautiful natural scenery—a truly unforgettable experience. Additionally, there is a 2,500-square-meter botanical flower garden at Guntu Ridge, filled with exquisite trees such as pine, willow, poplar, and birch. Beneath the trees bloom a variety of colorful flowers, including striking little peach blossoms, shy wild roses, golden wild lilies in bud, yams, salvia, tall spikes, and broomcorn daisies—all vibrant and fragrant, creating a dazzling, fragrant spectacle that dazzles the eyes.
