The Balan River is one of the few rivers in the Lesser Khingan Mountains that remains largely in its pristine state. It is located within Langxiang, 56 kilometers from the town center, stretches 105 kilometers in length, has an average water depth of about 1.2 meters, and an average width of 15 meters. The drifting section at the source of the Balan River is set within the “Jade Rabbit Fairy Pool” tourist area, with the section being 13 kilometers long, an average width of 15 meters, a water flow speed of 3 meters per second, a 100-meter-wide river channel, and a drop of 1.5 meters.

The put-in point for the drift features service facilities such as a reception center, first aid station, male and female changing rooms, showers, and environmentally friendly toilets. Riding a two-person rubber raft downstream, you’ll wind through majestic mountains and valleys along a stream fed by mountain springs. Lush forests of towering pines and willows line both banks, where strange rocks abound and the scenery is captivating. The continuously unfolding vistas are truly breathtaking. The river alternates between calm and rapid flows, with crystal-clear waters. Along the way, you'll pass by peaks of verdant hills and winding bends, and may even spot wild ducks and waterfowl swimming in the water. This paradise-like natural setting stirs the imagination and offers endless enjoyment.
