Taoshan International Hunting Ground

Taoshan International Hunting Ground is China’s first international wildlife hunting ground. It was opened in 1984, with its main facilities and recreational activities scattered across the jurisdiction of the Taoshan Forestry Bureau.

The Taoshan Wildlife Hunting Ground is situated 14 kilometers southeast of the Taoshan Forestry Bureau in Heilongjiang Province. The area lies within the mountainous terrain of the Lesser Khingan Range, along the Jinen Highway. It is 22 kilometers from Tieli City.

The hunting ground spans an area of 620 square kilometers, including 280 square kilometers of hills, 69 square kilometers of water bodies, and 250 square kilometers of green space. There are 98 peaks of varying sizes within the grounds. The main tree species include pine, linden, and birch, with over 200 varieties in total, covering 90% of the area.

Native wild animals include black bears, red deer, wild boars, snow rabbits, roe deer, river deer, sables, as well as wild ducks, hazel grouse, and pheasants. To accommodate hunters’ accommodation and dining needs, European-style hunter camps have been built in Nanhé Forestry Farm, Shanghulan Forestry Farm, and Taodong Forestry Farm, covering a construction area of 1,500 square meters. These camps mainly feature guest rooms, bars, and barbecue areas. The best hunting season is from late September to February of the following year. Taoshan International Hunting Ground is divided into four zones (closed hunting zone, animal breeding zone, Hunting Zone I, and Hunting Zone II), and is equipped with hunting firearms, vehicles, and hunting guides.

Transportation by Bus: Take a bus from Yichun to Tieli, then transfer to a minibus or taxi to reach the Taoshan Forestry Bureau.

Self-Driving Route: Starting from Yichun, get on the Hegang–Harbin Expressway (Heihe–Harbin Expressway), drive 111.9 kilometers, exit at Freeze No. 6 Bridge, go straight for 6.5 kilometers, turn left and drive 8.6 kilometers, pass through Taoshan Village, then turn right and drive 300 meters to arrive.
