Hegang Coal Mine History Museum

The Hegang Coal Mine History Museum, located in Dongshan District of Hegang City, is a provincial-level industrial tourism demonstration site and a patriotic education base.

The Hegang coalfield was discovered in 1914. After more than 90 years of vicissitudes, it embodies a profound and weighty history. Especially in the more than half a century since the establishment of the Hegang Mining Bureau in 1945, the Hegang coal mine has created tremendous material wealth and invaluable spiritual wealth for the nation.

The museum is divided into three main sections: the main exhibition hall, the east side hall, and the west side hall. The main exhibition hall is organized chronologically into five major parts: early development, Japanese puppet rule, early days of the bureau's establishment, construction and development, and reform and progress. The exhibits feature rich and detailed historical materials, vivid and lifelike displays, and authentic historical artifacts, offering a comprehensive glimpse into the 90-year history of the mining area.
