Tainan’s newly viral attraction “Skywalk” café — stunning at sunset!

Tainan’s Dongshan District’s newest viral attraction“Skywalk”opened to the public on July 22 and within just three days, attracted hundreds of visitors, creating a huge sensation. The creator of the skywalk, Hong Jialin, originally built it just to have a space for rest during gatherings with fellow bikers. Later, he discovered the breathtaking view of the setting sun from the walkway and decided to open it to the public. The sudden influx of visitors quickly became overwhelming for Hong, who has now implemented a Facebook reservation system to manage the crowd.

Hong Jialin, an avid heavy motorcycle rider, once rode past the Guizishan hairpin turn and was struck by the beauty of the landscape. He then purchased an abandoned farmhouse on a mountain at an altitude of 200 meters. Originally, he intended it to be a place for gatherings and summer retreats with friends and fellow riders, and even planned to retire there. That’s how the coffee bar and skywalk came to be.

Hong Jialin’s skywalk is located at the 174 Wings Riders’ Station. The café opened on the 22nd, and by the 24th, it was suddenly flooded with visitors eager to see the skywalk’s beauty.

Hong Jialin never expected the 174 Wings Riders’ Station to go viral in just a few days due to people sharing photos of the skywalk online. To prevent overcrowding from ruining the scenery, visitors must now make a Facebook reservation and receive confirmation before entering.

While open to the general public, profit is not the main goal. Hong Jialin simply wants to share this beautiful spot with others and perhaps make new friends. He hopes visitors can take their time to enjoy the quiet, reflect, and soak in the beauty of the mountains and forests, rather than rushing through in a crowd. Since Hong and his wife originally ran a pet-friendly café, pets are also welcome in the skywalk as long as visitors follow the rules.
