Tainan’s Stunning “Infinity Mountain Spring Pool” in the Mountains – Witness Sea of Clouds at Dawn and Dusk

Summer trips call for cool and refreshing getaways, and in the mountains of Dongshan District, Tainan, there’san “infinity mountain spring pool,” where you can also enjoy breathtaking sea of clouds at dawn and dusk. The mountaintop appears like an island in the middle of a lake, creating an exceptionally beautiful view that has made it famous.

Tainan’s “Xianhu Farm” is quite well-known in southern Taiwan. Spanning 52 hectares on a standalone mountaintop, when looking down from the farm in the morning, at dusk, or after rain, the entire valley below is often shrouded in sea of clouds, making the mountaintop farm look like an island in the middle of a lake—hence the name “Xianhu” (Fairy Lake).Travelers can get there by taking the Taiwan Tourist Shuttle Bus from the Xinying Bus Terminal, making transportation very convenient.

Visiting Xianhu Farm in summer allows you to enjoy a hot pot meal made entirely with locally grown vegetables. Farm staff noted that the founder, Wu Senfu, is dedicated to preserving nature and tradition, so the farm still houses one of Taiwan’s few remaining 60-year-old old roasting stoves used to roast longan. Visitors can taste fresh longan and dried longan, among other rustic delicacies. During the two-month harvest season, you can witness the old roasting stoves slowly roasting longan.

Recommended by the Siraya National Scenic Area Administration, Xianhu Farm, located around the Dongshan Coffee Highway, also offers locally grown coffee for tasting. Here, you can also experience hands-on pour-over coffee brewing and attend simple coffee workshops. A full tour around Xianhu Farm offers views of plants and animals up close. For those who wish to stay overnight, there are also mountain cabins available.

But the most beloved spot on the whole farm is the infinity pool located in the center. Filled with mountain spring water, the infinity pool is for recreation and features three pools of varying depths, complete with small slides. In summer, children can play in the water while adults relax on nearby rocking chairs, enjoying the farm’s romantic ambiance.
