Golden Summit Mountain Dragon Palm Rock Peak Scenic Area
The Golden Summit Mountain Dragon Palm Rock Peak Scenic Area, a granite rock forest landform heritage park, is situated in the vast wilderness at the southern foot of the Lesser Khingan Mountains in northeastern Heilongjiang Province. It neighbors Yichun City to the northwest and lies within the administrative area of the 18th Forest Farm of Hegang Forestry Bureau. Geographic coordinates: 129°54′–129°58′ east longitude, 47°32′–47°34′ north latitude. Covering an area of approximately 6.41 square kilometers, the park is 48 kilometers from downtown Hegang. (The distance from downtown Hegang to the forest farm is 41 kilometers via all concrete roads. The forest farm is 7 kilometers from Golden Summit Mountain, with concrete roads currently under construction.)
The vegetation of Golden Summit Mountain belongs to the flora of the Lesser Khingan Mountains. The main tree species include Korean pine, spruce, fir, larch, Scots pine, Amur cork tree, Manchurian ash, ??议薄, 䠅牛, 䠅芽, 䠅采, 䠅阻, 䠅汨, 䠅苁, 䠅镜, etc. Shrubs mainly consist of 山里红, 桃李, 山桃, 山丁子, 山杏, 山梨, 䠅莱, etc. Herbaceous plants primarily include 铃兰, 船盔苔, 石竹, 蹄叶橐吾, etc. Mosses are mainly composed of 大叶藓, 泥炭藓, 曲尾藓, etc. Ferns include 卷柏, 木贼, 问荆, 石韦, etc. Wildlife mainly comprises squirrels, hares, martens, pheasants, partridges, quails, magpies, crows, pigeons, swallows, etc.
The landform unit of the park consists of low granite mountains. Granite is a type of volcanic lava that, under pressure, rises to the Earth's crust surface in a molten state and forms as a tectonic rock. It cools slowly while moving through the Earth's crust and is a type of igneous rock. The highest peak, Golden Summit Mountain, has an elevation of 840.2 meters, with a relative height difference of over 500 meters. It is the second highest peak within Hegang City. The park features distinctive micro-landforms such as eroded valleys, fault cliffs, collapse accumulations, periglacial deposits, and stream valley wetlands.
