The Hezhe people are one of China’s smallest ethnic minorities, and Sipailou Township in the northeastern part of Raohe County is one of only three Hezhe-inhabited areas. The Sipailou Hezhe Ethnic Folk Culture Park is located in Sipailou Township, 17.5 kilometers from the county seat, right along the western bank of the Ussuri River and facing Russia’s Lachinchofu Rock Mountain across the river, covering a total area of 53.5 square kilometers.

The park features four functional zones: a resort area, fishing and entertainment area, sightseeing area, and ice-snow culture area. Upon entering the park, visitors can enjoy the Hezhe people’s unique skill of fork-fishing, admire exquisitely crafted fish-skin clothing, birch-bark boats, and handicrafts, and sample flavorful local dishes such as “raw sliced fish sashimi” and “Talaha.” The distinctive production and lifestyle of the Hezhe people have attracted tens of thousands of tourists and cultural enthusiasts to visit. The park fully showcases the history, culture, storytelling, dance, folk customs, and human landscapes of the Hezhe ethnic group. Here, you can not only take in the scenery of Dadingshan Mountain but also enjoy views of the Ussuri River landscape and the Russian countryside. It is a comprehensive tourist destination integrating leisure, vacation, research, fitness, accommodation, and recreation. The park holds significant influence in the eastern part of Heilongjiang Province and enjoys a certain level of fame in both China and Russia.

Sipailou Township: Sipailou Hezhe Ethnic Township is located on the western bank of the Ussuri River in the northeastern part of Raohe County, facing Russia across the river, and is 21.5 kilometers from the county seat. The township covers a total area of 52 square kilometers, comprising 4 administrative villages and 1 state-owned forest farm, with a total population of 2,000, including 1,700 agricultural residents. Sipailou Hezhe Ethnic Township is the only ethnic township in Raohe County and one of only three Hezhe ethnic townships in China. The terrain of Sipailou Township is flat, dotted with marshes, and features large areas of grassland and wetlands.
