Tiesi Forest Park

Tiesi Forest Park is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

Tiesi Forest Park is located within the Tiesi Forest Farm in Taiping Township, Mishan City, Heilongjiang Province. It can be accessed via the Fangzhihu (Fangzheng–Hulin) or Qi-Mi (Qitaihe–Mishan) tourism highways. The park is 58.5 kilometers from downtown Mishan. This forest park is a mountainous ecological nature reserve. It earned its name from the lush and unique wild hazelnut trees growing in the area.

The forest park covers a total area of 20 square kilometers. There are over 30 peaks in the area that are more than 300 meters high, among which the main representative peak stands at an elevation of 500 meters. The Hazelnut Mountain features peculiar pine trees and oddly shaped ridges, with dense and winding hazel bushes. There is also a 100,000-square-meter lotus pond, a 530,000-square-meter artificial reservoir, the Tatiehu River Pagoda, a natural swimming pool, a natural wild fishing pond, and more. As a nature ecological park in eastern Heilongjiang that combines mountains, water, flowers, grass, fish, and wild birds, it is known for its beauty, ruggedness, serenity, and tranquility. The forest park serves not only as an important site for scientific research, camping, and education, but also as an ideal destination for sightseeing, summer retreats, and convalescence.

Covering an area of 120,000 mu, this forest park is surrounded by mountains and streams, boasts beautiful scenery, and is the first forest park in Heilongjiang Province to be built with investment from local farmers. What was once barren hills, desolate gullies, and infertile land has been transformed through the hard work and persistent efforts of local residents—over 20,000 mu of green pine trees have been planted, 4,000 mu of fertile farmland developed, and 800 mu of lotus flowers cultivated. Dams were built to store water, and lakes created against the mountains, making it a resort for leisure, summer retreats, and convalescence. Major attractions include Hazelnut Mountain, the Hazelnut Garden, the primeval pine forest, the birch forest, the Tatie Reservoir, the forest bathing area, the lotus pond, the artificial waterfall, the Tatiehu River Pagoda, the island in the center of the reservoir, and various style villa areas.

Over the past 20-plus years, Tiesi Village has invested more than 13 million yuan in comprehensive, three-dimensional development for eco-tourism and agritourism. Attractions such as Zhuohui Pool, Tatie Lake, the forest bathing area, and the hunting ground have been completed, attracting large numbers of domestic and international tourists and generating considerable economic income for Tiesi Village.
