Former site of Fushunhou Flour Mill

The former site of Fushunhou Flour Mill is a cultural relic protection unit of Jilin Province.

The former site of Fushunhou Flour Mill is now used as residential housing. This building, located at No. 3 Changbai Road, has been designated as a key cultural relic protection unit of Changchun City due to its special role in the city’s modern history.

The original structure was part of the Shuanghezhan Flour Mill. Established in 1921, Shuanghezhan was a large-scale operation, but in 1929, it applied for closure due to poor management amid Japanese capital pressure. In December of the same year, Qu Ziyuan invested 400,000 silver dollars to take over Shuanghezhan and established the Fushunhou Flour Mill. The mill mainly produced “Hehe Erxian” brand flour, yielding 2,400 bags per day. By 1940, production had increased to 5,260 bags daily. After the liberation in 1945, the mill was unable to resume production due to damaged and missing equipment, and the building was repurposed for other uses. The current site retains a four-story main building, a one-story auxiliary building, and a chimney.
