Jiguan Mountain National Forest Park

Jiguan Mountain National Forest Park is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction and a national forest park.

The park has a planned total area of 2,903.61 hectares, stretching approximately 7.0 kilometers from east to west and about 8.5 kilometers from north to south.

The mountain ranges in Jiguan Mountain National Forest Park are continuous, winding, and strikingly beautiful. These rugged and diverse peaks form the scenic framework of the park. The park is named after twelve peaks that resemble a rooster’s comb, which are interconnected and staggered. The highest peak, at 969.1 meters, is called Jiguan Lazi and is the tallest peak in Meihekou City. Standing at the deep valley in front of Jiguan Mountain and looking up at the summit, you’ll see towering peaks in graceful shapes. As you hike up the path, lush greenery fills your view—whether you gaze into the distance or look around, the peaks rise abruptly from the earth, standing independently and forming their own unique scenery. The landform landscape resources are mainly characterized by grandeur, wonder, beauty, and serenity. Landscape types include peaks, ridges, hills, valleys, caves, and rocks.

When spring arrives, Jiguan Mountain's abundant wild azalea resources—including mountain azalea, small-leaved azalea, leatherleaf rhododendron, alpine small-leaved azalea, and feltleaf azalea—bloom vibrantly along the paths. Their vibrant purple and red hues create a magnificent sight, resembling brocade or a red sunrise. Above 750 meters in elevation within the park, especially on the slopes, ridges, and cliffs along both sides of Jile Ridge, there is a spectacular sea of azaleas covering an area of 205.2 hectares.

In the depths of winter, when the land is blanketed in white, snow-capped ridges and icy peaks glisten under golden sunlight, creating a dazzling, glass-like world. The snow and rime clinging to the trees and branches take on countless forms, appearing even more crystal-clear and pure against the blue sky, exuding unyielding strength.

Jiguan Mountain National Forest Park boasts a rich variety of landform landscapes, stunning hydrological features, diverse biological landscapes, ancient and unique cultural sites, and magnificent atmospheric phenomena—all meeting the standards for first-class forest park scenic resources. Compared to other national forest parks in Tonghua City such as Longwan Group, Baijiyao, Sanxianjia, and Wunvfeng, Jiguan Mountain stands out with its uniquely striking landforms, profound historical and cultural heritage, superior geographical location, greater locational advantages, more convenient external transportation, and its status as the only forest park in Meihekou City. It is one of the most distinctive forest parks in Tonghua City and even in Jilin Province, thus offering high tourism value and broad development prospects.
