Linjiang Wudao Gou National Wetland Park is a national-level wetland park.

Linjiang Wudao Gou National Wetland Park is situated on the southwestern foothills of the Changbai Mountains, in the Wudao Gou River basin of Jubao Reservoir in the southeastern part of Linjiang City, within the operational areas of the Liudaogou State-owned Forest Farm of Linjiang City and the Xixiaoshan Forest Farm of the Linjiang Forestry Bureau. Its geographical coordinates are longitude 127°15′06″ to 127°26′37.9″ and latitude 41°40′56.8″ to 41°45′40.1″. The park is 45 kilometers from Linjiang City, covering an area of 4,153 hectares. It boasts abundant and diverse wetland resources, including five types: forest swamp, herbaceous swamp, shrub swamp, permanent river, and reservoir. The total wetland area is 1,466 hectares, accounting for 35.3% of the park’s total area.

The park preserves well-developed forest vegetation, features a dense river network and abundant precipitation, and is rich in animal and plant resources with high biodiversity. There are four vegetation types, 11 formations, and 10 associations. The wild plants consist of 82 families and 381 species, including the first-class nationally protected plant, the Northeast yew, and second-class protected plants such as Korean pine, Korean thuja, Manchurian ash, and purple magnolia. The park is also home to 291 species of wild vertebrates, belonging to 33 orders and 88 families, representing 50.96% of the total known vertebrate species in Jilin Province. Among them, 34 species are first or second-class nationally protected wild animals, including the scaly-sided merganser, golden eagle, sable, forest musk deer, mandarin duck, black bear, and red deer, making up 42.5% of the key terrestrial wild animal species under national protection in Jilin Province.

Over the years, the Linjiang municipal government has placed great emphasis on wetland conservation and construction, adopting various measures to protect and develop wetlands. Since 2007, efforts have been made to build the wetland park. After persistent work, the Linjiang Wudao Gou National Wetland Park, jointly applied for by the Linjiang Forestry Bureau and the Linjiang Forestry Bureau, was approved by the State Forestry Administration in December 2013.

The conservation and development of Linjiang Wudao Gou National Wetland Park can effectively restore the ecological functions and integrity of the wetland ecosystem in Linjiang, protect and restore habitats and biodiversity for wetland organisms. It fully showcases the wetland’s roles in providing high-quality water sources, purifying pollutants, controlling erosion and protecting soil, regulating climate, as well as its functions for leisure, entertainment, culture, and scientific research. Thus, it serves as an ecological and environmental protection base and a wetland conservation education center for Linjiang City.
