The line also features the Tonghua/Linjiang Night Market near Xinyi Anhe Station, Yongkang Street at Dongmen Station, and Shilin Night Market at Jiantan Station. In the autumn and winter season, you can also soak in hot springs around Beitou Station. For those who love watching sunsets and cityscapes, don’t miss the famous Tamsui Sunset View and the breathtaking night view of Taipei’s urban skyline with Taipei 101 towering above — all accessible via the Xinyi Line. 1. Hot Springs — Relax at Beitou Station, Home to Taiwan’s Renowned Springs
Beitou is surrounded by the Shamao Mountain, Datun Mountain, and Qixing Mountain ranges. Due to its location on a volcanic rock belt, its unique geological features have fostered the development of industries such as sulfur, U-Li’an stone, ceramics, rush grass, Penglai rice, and hot springs. The sources of Beitou’s hot springs are the Thermal Valley and Longfeng Valley on Xingyi Road. Depending on their locations, they are classified into three types: white sulfur, green sulfur, and iron sulfur springs. Here, you can choose from nostalgic, retro hot spring bathhouses or stylish, modern hot spring hotels. Whether you’re just stopping by for the day or staying overnight, both options are great. Additionally, Beitou has many cultural sites worth exploring, such as the century-old Thermal Valley Park and the Chan Garden where Zhang Xueliang once stayed.

2. Night Views — The Sunset Symphony at Tamsui Station and City Lights from Xiangshan Station
Riverside scenes, fishing harbors, old streets, and pastry shops in Tamsui have taken on new looks with tourism development, but its exceptional setting by the mountains and sea remains unchanged. The “Tamsui Sunset,” one of Taiwan’s Eight Scenic Spots, continues to enchant daily.

Xiangshan, in Taipei’s Xinyi District, is one of the city’s most popular hiking spots. Named for its elephant-like shape, it is part of the Four Beast Mountains along with nearby Tiger, Leopard, and Lion Mountains. With an elevation of 183 meters, it isn’t very high, but with no obstructions in front, it offers an unobstructed view of the Taipei Basin. Watching the nighttime lights of Taipei 101 from Xiangshan is equally captivating. Here, you can breathe in the fresh mountain air while overlooking the bustling city lights — a uniquely tranquil feeling akin to living in seclusion in the mountains while observing the world’s vibrancy below.

3. Night Markets — All the Highlights: Xinyi Anhe Station’s Tonghua Night Market, Dongmen Station’s Yongkang Street, and Jiantan Station’s Shilin Night Market
The Tonghua Night Market (also known as Linjiang Night Market), located between Section 4 of Xinyi Road and Section 2 of Keelung Road, may not be as large as other night markets, but it offers a wide variety of street foods, trendy fashion, and great deals on goods — making it a great spot for office workers and students to grab a bite, shop, or pick up some clothes in the evening.
