2019 Taipei Night Market Food Festival has officially kicked off. This year marks the 8th edition of the event, with six major night markets in Taipei participating, including Ningxia Night Market, Yansan Night Market, Liaoning Street Night Market, Huaxi Street Night Market, Linjiang Night Market, and Guangzhou Street Night Market.

The top 10 must-try foods for the 2019 Taipei Night Market Food Festival have also been officially announced. They include "Stinky Tofu from Uncle Mayor’s Stinky Tofu" and "Grilled Squid from Squid King" at Ningxia Night Market; "Oyster Omelette & Squid Soup" and "Pork Rib Soup with Cabbage Rice" from Yansan Night Market; "Steak from Monga Steakhouse" at Guangzhou Street Night Market; "Meatball Soup from Big Cauldron Meatball" at Huaxi Street Night Market; "Cabbage Pan-Fried Buns" and "Mountain Inside Chicken Rice" from Nangang Airport Night Market; and "Oyster Omelette" and "Pan-Fried Pork Buns" from Linjiang Night Market.

Taiwanese night markets are not only favorites among locals and tourists but also one of the main reasons international visitors come to Taiwan. Among international tourists, the top impressions of Taipei are its food, scenery, and warmth of its people. This year, Yansan Night Market and Huaxi Street Night Market were also selected for the Michelin Bib Gourmand list for the first time.
