The former site of the World War II Allied Prisoners of War Camp in Liaoyuan is located in Xi’an District, Liaoyuan City, Jilin Province. The former site of the Liaoyuan High-Level Prisoner of War Camp run by the Japanese invaders during China's War of Resistance against Japan serves as a mirror, reflecting the heroic deeds of people around the world uniting and fighting side by side to resist the Japanese fascist invaders.

The former site of the World War II Allied Prisoners of War Camp in Liaoyuan covers an area of 27,954 square meters, with the exhibition hall covering a construction area of 2,097 square meters. The interior of the exhibition hall displays hundreds of cultural relics, mainly including seven sections: Pacific War Flames, The Dark Journey of Captivity, The Story of Generals, The Plight of Prisoners, Coming Home Alive, Fading Silhouettes, and Major Events of World War II. It features digital interactive exhibits such as the flying page turner, holographic imaging, and general dialogue. A total of nearly 50 million yuan has been invested in protection and construction.

In 2010, Liaoyuan City initiated the rescue restoration and conservation project of the prisoner of war camp site; in 2011, the relocation project of the Liaoyuan Military Sub-district to a new site began; in 2012, work commenced on collecting relevant cultural relics from both domestic and international sources; in 2014, the construction of the prisoner of war camp exhibition hall, comprehensive improvement of the scenic area, and the interior exhibition project of the exhibition hall were launched, and all projects have now been completed.

In October 2019, the former site of the World War II Allied Prisoners of War Camp in Liaoyuan was included in the eighth batch of National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units.
