This city is situated on Luanshan Mountain in Gongnong Village, Gongnong Township, Longshan District. The site lies in a rugged location and is relatively large in size. The city walls are well-preserved, built from rammed earth, with the highest section reaching 5 meters and a trapezoidal cross-section. There is a gap approximately 6 meters wide in the middle section of the west wall, extending from the south gate to the north. This area has now been developed into an outer ring road about 40 meters wide. Scattered across the southwestern part of the city are a small number of Bronze Age cultural remains. Typical gray pottery fragments with incised string and dot patterns, as well as rims and bases of pottery vessels, have also been collected within the city. Based on the scale and characteristics of the construction, this site is believed to have been a mountain fortress used for defense during the Goguryeo period.

Gongnong Township: Established in 1971, Gongnong Township is located on the southern edge of Liaoyuan's urban area, serving as a transitional zone between urban and rural areas. It administers 12 administrative villages and 68 local communities, with a population of 31,000. The township covers a total area of 78.2 square kilometers, including 2,339 hectares of arable land.

During the Tenth Five-Year Plan period, Gongnong Township established an economic development framework known as "focus on the main body, expand both wings, and drive the rest," continuously cultivating fast-growing revenue sources.
