This city is situated on Longshou Mountain in Liaoyuan City. It was built by piling and ramming earth along the natural mountain terrain and was a fairly influential and sizable mountain fortress during the Goguryeo period. The city has a perimeter of approximately 1,200 meters, with two city gates set along the walls and remnants of watchtowers at each of the four corners. Two reservoirs were also built near the western wall. A wealth of artifacts have been discovered within the city, including distinctive rope-patterned large roof tiles and lotus-petal-patterned tile ends, as well as various types of pottery rims. Notably, the many types of iron arrowheads found display typical characteristics of the Goguryeo era. Longshou Mountain Fortress is an important site within both Jilin and Liaoning provinces where a significant number of artifacts have been unearthed, and the relics found here hold considerable archaeological research value.
