Han Dynasty Beacon Towers

The Han Dynasty Beacon Towers are protected cultural heritage sites of Liaoning Province.

The five Han Dynasty Beacon Towers are located in Guoshu Village, Zhanjia Village, Xinbei Village, Kaoshan Village, and Qiandian Village, Qiandian Town, Shuncheng District, Fushun City.

Archaeologists have discovered dozens of Han Dynasty beacon towers—continuous lines of signal towers—along the Hun River and its tributaries in present-day Fushun. These earthen, circular towers currently stand approximately 2–3 meters tall with base diameters of around 68 meters. Among the surrounding areas, plain pottery and vessels such as basins and jars from the Western Han Dynasty have been collected. The beacon towers generally run east to west, stretching over 10 kilometers. Along the inner side of the line, several Han Dynasty city sites discovered in the Fushun area are distributed, including the Yongling South City Site in Yongling Town, the Labor Park Han City in Xinhu District, and the Xiaojia Bang Han City in Dongzhou District. This continuous network of beacon towers served an important role in postal communication and border defense, forming a spectacular sight of crisscrossing signal towers dotting the frontier.

Protected Area: Within a 30-meter radius centered on each beacon tower.

Construction Control Zone: A first-class control zone extends 50 meters beyond the protected area.
